Honor Earth Day – April 21 – An Interfaith Alliance Event

On Saturday April 21 (the day before official Earth Day) between 9:00 am and 12 noon the Kittitas County Interfaith Alliance will sponsor a work party at the historic IOOF Cemetery at 1900 Brick Road.  The tasks to be performed include grass trimming, spreading mulch, filling in settled areas, weeding and painting.  At noon lunch will be served at the nearby LDS church at 1700 Brick Road.  Grilled hamburgers and veggie-burgers will be provided by the LDS people, rolls and condiments by the Baha’is, salads by the Unitarian Universalists, and desserts by the Methodists.  A short program will be included honoring Earth Day.  The Alliance’s objective of creating spaces that foster acquaintances and friendships where civil discourse can be practiced and modeled across religious/cultural/political differences will also be presented.  The public is invited to either or both events.  Bring your own gardening tools and pickup trucks if you have them.  Any questions may be directed to Rick Bily at coyotesmile9@gmail.com and 509-677-3955.

Vivian Dunbar will be coordinating the UU salad contribution. Please let Vivian know at 740-590-5434 if you can contribute a potato or other salad or have any questions.   If you can’t make the event we will be happy to pick up your salad.
